Saturday 15th September 2012. Our luggage has to be outside of the Warwick Hotel room for 7.30am today. We will then get breakfast and a coach to the Rocky Mountain National Park. Another long travelling day because from the coach trip we go straight onto the train for our 1st overnighter. After the Rockies tour the train will take almost twenty hours from Denver to Chicago.
We saw the Alluvial Fan. In 1982 water from a lake far above the Alluvial Fan had burst flooding the area, bringing down trees and massive boulders. A man in his lodge heard the rumble and was able to save most of the nearby campers, however 3 did die.
Find pic to spell Berfort Pass on the continental divide.
Idaho Springs and waterfall, under which old Charlie built a large wheel for his mine. He lived to 80 plus, very unusal in those days. He owed his longevity to chipmunk soup everyday, no baths and no kissin' women.
